Put simply, my art aims to spread joy. In a world where we are exposed to a lot of negativity through news and social media, I think it’s important to take joy in the little things. I have certainly fallen victim to feeling overwhelmed and stressed out by what I have seen on social media in the past, which is why I started creating illustrations of things that made me happy in the first place. I started posting them online with the hope of providing a little dose of mood boosting fun to people’s daily lives.
The colourful and imaginative feel of my work is influenced by my own childhood and a love for cartoons, books and games. I grew up in the countryside and love nature, so animals, plants and organic textures also are used a lot in my work.
The power of images as communication tools is huge, and going forward I want to do more work that uses my bold and playful illustration style to help communicate messages in a way that is lighthearted and personal.
