Beatriz Temudo – Olinda
Olinda is a short portrait series that explores the connection between my grandmother with her own body, as well as our relationship and how it has mutated over the years. The notion of time is central to these works.
The series was made after my grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer and had a mastectomy at the age of 82. A year later, she fell and broke her arm making it impossible for her to be completely autonomous. The following months were spent helping her shower, bringing food and helping with the healing process. It was over that time that this body of work was shot.
These are honest documentations of Olinda, my grandmother.
