FOOL ME ONCE, FOOL YOU TWICE
A person, a building, or even an object that can evoke a certain feeling. I deal with my feelings becoming a newcomer to new environments that are unfamiliar. Finding places that redefine and contribute to the feeling I call home. A feeling of uncertainty and unknowing prevails; I relish the thought of finding tranquillity in this strange place. Showing—in essence—that home is wherever I am, and that it is not far behind. Fool me once, Fool you Twice is a series of analog double exposures, creating an amalgam of two memories combined into one photograph becoming a way of exploring new community identity and personal experiences. The idea that ‘Home’ is not a place, but rather a state of mind.
Bio:
British Canadian photographer Tee Ferguson lives and works in Devon, UK, often working with analog techniques. Examining what it means for a place to be recognised and understood. Pushing the photographic image in ways that can be read conceptually and questions how we view everyday life. The photographs become a means of visual exploration, to make a seemingly fractured life into a whole: a story with a past, present, and future.
