My Friend, You are a Lunar Lamplight
This body of work is an exploration into ideas of isolation and solitude within a landscape, particularly a landscape that is forever on the go. My early adult years were fraught with extreme bouts of insomnia which left me yearning to explore the night as I lay helpless in bed trying to catch just a little bit of sleep. This volume of work – my most personal project yet – was born out of frustration. I had to be out there, observing the night that I was missing, yet I wanted to find a space where I could isolate myself and find some form of solitude.
Christopher works exclusively with film photography on either large or medium format. This work is from his final MA Project at the University of Plymouth.
